Manchester Arena, Terrorism, and Q&A

Tuesday, May 23, 2017

Hank HanegraaffOn today’s Bible Answer Man broadcast, Hank discusses the tragedy of terrorism in Manchester, England. Hank also answers questions on the following topics: In Genesis, why did Joseph feel the need to share his dream with his brothers? Where did the Qur'an get the idea that Ezra is the son of God? Is repentance a work in regard to salvation? Since Jesus told the thief on the cross that he would be with Him in Paradise today, why did He tell Mary following the resurrection, that He had not yet ascended to the Father? Why did Jesus call Peter Satan when he reacted to the news of Jesus' coming death? What role does Mary now play in your faith-life? What is the correct position on the pretribulational Rapture? Can you give me your thoughts on Luke 9:62 where Jesus talks about those who look back? How are we going to fit on this earth after the resurrection? Is there something more to the Word of Faith errors than a lack of emphasis on Jesus?

Christianity: Distinct and Unique, and Q&A - Monday, May 22, 2017
On today’s Bible Answer Man broadcast, Hank underscores the fact that Christianity is distinct and unique from all the other religions of the world. Christianity is rooted in history and evidence. With the historical reality of the resurrection, Christ vindicated His claim to divinity. Hank also answers questions on the following topics: I want to praise God for delivering me from the Jehovah's Witnesses. Could you explain your understanding of communion—the real presence of Christ? In Proverbs, Solomon describes wisdom in various ways. Why would he call wisdom vanity in Ecclesiastes? As a hermaphrodite, assigned male sexuality after birth, I "feel" like a woman. Why, as a society, do we have communal showers and public bathrooms? My church is a pretty traditional church, but they started to dabble in the Word of Faith movement back in the mid to late 90s. Eventually the church split and formed two congregations. How do I witness to them in gentleness and respect, as I am often met with great resistance and anger? Mark 4:12 states, "That seeing they may see, and not perceive; and hearing they may hear, and not understand; lest at any time they should be converted, and their sins should be forgiven them." Is this passage, and the passage of the sower with seeds meant for Christians, to convict them? What are your thoughts on the Rapture? What is your opinion on the movie The Shack?
Best of BAM: J. Warner Wallace and Forensic Faith - Saturday, May 20, 2017
On today’s Bible Answer Man broadcast Hank opens the broadcast by mentioning the CRI resource for May, Forensic Faith by J. Warner Wallace. Jim Wallace joins Hank on the Bible Answer Man broadcast to discuss his book.
Chemotherapy, Hinduism, and Q&A - Friday, May 19, 2017
Hank shares his difficult experience of learning today from his oncologist what he will be facing in the next several months through chemotherapy.Hank also offers some concise points concerning Hinduism, a multifaceted rather than monolithic religion. Hindus suppose that ultimate reality (Brahman) is an impersonal oneness that transcends all distinctions including personal and propositional differentiations. As such, there is no distinction between morals and mice. Hank also answers questions on the following topics: How does one go about memorizing the Scriptures? Can you sin too many times to be forgiven? How does Satan influence our thoughts? Why did Peter say in 2 Peter 3:16 that Paul says things that are hard to understand? Given Ezekiel 3:16, am I responsible for warning others about sin and judgment? Is the Roman Catholic Church a cult? Have you ever visited a monastery? How does one love someone you can’t stand? Why do you not believe the Bible teaches Dispensationalism? What about the view that there are two Gospels—one to the Jewish people and another to Gentiles? How did Jonah survive in the belly of the great fish?
Call to Action, the Eucharist, and Q&A - Thursday, May 18, 2017
On today’s Bible Answer Man broadcast, Hank opens the broadcast with a call to action. CRI's goal is to reach 100,000 Facebook likes by June. Please like, rate, and review the Bible Answer Man Facebook page. Also remember to get your copy of Forensic Faith, by J. Warner Wallace. Hank also answers questions on the following topics: Is there a difference between the eucharist in the Roman Catholic and Orthodox traditions, and communion in the Protestant traditions? In the OT in the Mosaic law, God talked about blessings and curses following to the third generation. Is this still true since Christ came? Can you help me understand the eucharist? Is the biblical evidence of Christ being in the elements in John chapter 6? Is He not speaking in the same metaphorical sense with which he speaks to Nicodemus? What does it mean to "go not to thy brother’s house in the day of thy calamity: Better is a neighbor that is near than a brother far off?" (Proverbs 27:10) When Jesus died on Good Friday, was He dead completely three days? Where was Jesus on Saturday—in Hell? How does someone examine himself to make sure he is in the faith? Can a Christian lose his salvation? What is your take on the fact that the Orthodox church has closed communion?
Facebook Live, Prayer Life, and Q&A - Wednesday, May 17, 2017
On today’s Bible Answer Man broadcast, Hank reminds his listening audience about the Bible Answer Man Facebook Live event tomorrow, May 18 at 3PM Eastern Time. Hank also discusses prayer—that it ought to be its own reward—an opportunity to talk with God. To illustrate, Hank shares an event from the prayer life of Joni Eareckson Tada. Hank also answers questions on the following topics: With a few short years left in my life, what can I do to make a difference for the prolifigate life I have lived under the illusion of "cheap grace?" Do you know anything about a man called Apostle John Chi? Facebook Comment: No Hell exists now. The Lake of Fire will be the final judgment of those who reject the Lord. Does the Old Testament have any references to the Trinity? Does scripture have anything to say about how a person with a long-term bed-bound illness can have happiness and joy in this life, not just in the life to come? I disagree with your interpretation of Revelation 12. I believe there is overwhelming evidence that prophecy points to the day September 23, 2017 as a significant day in the Lord's plan. What are your thoughts? What is the origin of the struggle that Israel has with the land of Israel and Palestine?
Bible Answer Man, Facebook Live, and Q&A - Tuesday, May 16, 2017
On today’s Bible Answer Man broadcast, Hank mentions that he has walked into the Bible Answer Man studio for nearly 30 years now, and has never taken it for granted. Hank also announces the next Bible Answer Man Facebook Live event on Thursday, May 18th at 3PM ET. Hank also answers questions on the following topics: Does Forensic Faith address the Word of Faith movement? What are ghosts, and how do I make sense of them with the Bible? I believe I saw one. How do I reconcile that with the Bible? Can you help me understand the differences between the Orthodox church, and the Roman Catholic church? Do we as Christians truly believe the Eucharist is the body and blood of Jesus Christ, as in transubstantiation? Can you help me understand Jesus words not to call anyone father? My girlfriend and I have been together for many years and have three children together. Since I became a Christian, I've wanted to get married, but she does not. Can I lose my salvation over this?
Social Media, PET Scans, and Q&A - Monday, May 15, 2017
On today’s Bible Answer Man broadcast, Hank mentions that he has been getting enthusiastically involved with social media platforms, such as the Bible Answer Man Facebook page. Hank also gives a health update regarding his PET scan results. Hank also answers questions on the following topics: Jesus said in Matthew that we are to leave our gift before the altar if someone has something against us. Is this just dealing with forgiveness, or does it also pertain to such things as debts? What are the traditions that Christians are to hold fast to? When you pass on, do you go straight to heaven? How did the virgin Mary become pregnant, and why did God choose this way to come into the world? How did your conversion to Eastern Orthodoxy affect your relationship with your children? Did the Jewish leaders in Jesus' day know that the Messiah would be God incarnate? Paul referred to the Lord as Jesus Christ—as though Christ were His last name. Why did he do this instead of calling Him, Jesus "the" Christ? What are the differences between the Trinitarian view of God, and the Unitarian view? May I pray for you?

Hank also answers questions on the following topics: What comes first—baptism or salvation? I just wanted to say concerning your health issue, if the Lord takes you to it, He'll take you through it. Would you discuss the Mary issue? I am reading your book Afterlife. When Jesus was crucified, did He die spiritually? Was He separated from the Father? Do you have a response to Dr. James White's criticism of you? What are some of the best ways to preach to and teach young people as they grow? Why did God honor men in the Bible when they had more than one wife? Would He do that today?
