1 The Revelation of Jesus Christ, which God R1 gave Him to show R2 to His bond-servants, the R3 things which must soon take place; and He sent and communicated F1 it by R4 His angel to His bond-servant John, R52 who testified to the R6 word of God and to the R7 testimony of Jesus Christ, even to all that he saw.
3 Blessed R8 is he who reads and those who hear the words of the prophecy, and heed F2 the things which are written in it; for R9 the time is near. 4 John R10 to the R11 seven churches that are in Asia: R12 Grace R13 to you and peace, from Him R14 who is and who was and who is F3 to come, and from the R15 seven Spirits who are before His throne, 5 and from Jesus Christ, the R16 faithful witness, the firstborn R17 of the dead, and the ruler R18 of the kings of the earth. To Him who loves R19 us and released us from our sins by F4 His blood-- 6 and He has made us to be a kingdom, R20 priests R20 to His R21F5 God and Father--to R22 Him be the glory and the dominion forever and ever. Amen. 7 BEHOLD, HE IS COMING WITH THE CLOUDS, and every R24 eye will see Him, even those who pierced Him; and all the tribes of the earth will mourn R25 over Him. So it is to be. Amen. 8 "I am the R26 Alpha and the Omega," says the Lord R27 God, "who R28 is and who was and who is F6 to come, the Almighty."
9 I, R29 John, your brother R30 and fellow R31 partaker in the tribulation and kingdom R32 and perseverance R33F7 which are in Jesus, was on the island called Patmos because R34 of the word of God and the testimony of Jesus. 10 I was in R35F8 the Spirit on the R36 Lord's day, and I heard behind me a loud voice like R37 the sound of a trumpet, 11 saying, "Write R38 in a book F9 what you see, and send it to the seven R39 churches: to Ephesus R40 and to Smyrna R41 and to Pergamum R42 and to Thyatira R43 and to Sardis R44 and to Philadelphia R45 and to Laodicea." R4612 Then I turned to see the voice that was speaking with me. And having turned I saw seven R47 golden lampstands; 13 and in R48 the middle of the lampstands I saw one like R49 a F10 son of man, clothed R50 in a robe reaching to the feet, and girded R51 across His chest with a golden sash. 14 His head and His hair R52 were white like white wool, like snow; and His R53 eyes were like a flame of fire. 15 His feet R54 were like burnished bronze, when it has been made to glow in a furnace, and His voice R55 was like the sound of many waters. 16 In His right hand He held seven R56 stars, and out of His mouth came a sharp R57 two-edged sword; and His face R58 was like the R59 sun shining F11 in its strength. 17 When I saw Him, I fell R60 at His feet like a dead man. And He placed R61 His right hand on me, saying, "Do R62 not be afraid; I R63 am the first and the last, 18 and the living R64 One; and I was R65F12 dead, and behold, I am alive forevermore, and I have the R66 keys of death and of Hades. 19 "Therefore write R67 the R68 things which you have seen, and the things which are, and the things which will take place after R69 these things. 20 "As for the mystery R70 of the seven R71 stars which you saw in My right hand, and the seven R72 golden lampstands: the seven R71 stars are the angels of the R73 seven churches, and the seven lampstands R74 are the seven churches.
1 "To the angel of the church in Ephesus R75 write: The One who holds the R76 seven stars in His right hand, the One who walks among R77F13 the seven golden lampstands, says this: 2 `I R78 know your deeds and your toil and perseverance, F14 and that you cannot tolerate evil men, and you put R79 to the test those who call themselves apostles, R80 and they are not, and you found them to be false; 3 and you have perseverance F15 and have endured for R81 My name's sake, and have not grown weary. 4 `But I have this against you, that you have left R82 your first love. 5 `Therefore remember from where you have fallen, and repent R83 and do R84 the deeds F16 you did at first; or else I am coming to you and will remove your lampstand R85 out of its place--unless you repent. 6 `Yet this you do have, that you hate the deeds of the Nicolaitans, R86 which I also hate. 7 `He R87 who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches. To R88 him who overcomes, I will grant to eat of the R89 tree of life which is in the Paradise R90 of God.'
8 "And to the angel of the church in Smyrna R91 write: The R92 first and the last, who was R93F17 dead, and has come to life, says this: 9 `I know your tribulation R94 and your poverty R95 (but you are rich), R95 and the blasphemy by those who say R96 they are Jews and are not, but are a synagogue of Satan. R9710 `Do not fear what you are about to suffer. Behold, the devil is about to cast some of you into prison, so that you will be tested, R98 and you will have tribulation for R99 ten days. Be F18 faithful R100 until death, and I will give you the R101 crown of life. 11 `He R102 who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches. He R103 who overcomes will not be hurt by the second R104 death.'
12 "And to the angel of the church in Pergamum R105 write: The One who has the R106 sharp two-edged sword says this: 13 `I know where you dwell, where Satan's R107 throne is; and you hold fast My name, and did not deny My R108 faith even in the days of Antipas, My witness, R109 My faithful R110 one, who was killed among you, where R111 Satan dwells. 14 `But I R112 have a few things against you, because you have there some who hold the teaching R113 of Balaam, who kept teaching Balak to put a stumbling block before the sons of Israel, to R114 eat things sacrificed to idols and to commit acts of immorality. 15 `So you also have some who in the same way hold the teaching of the Nicolaitans. R11516 `Therefore repent; R116 or else I R117 am coming to you quickly, and I will make war against them with the R118 sword of My mouth. 17 `He R119 who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches. To R119 him who overcomes, to him I will give some of the hidden manna, R120 and I will give him a white stone, and a new R121 name written on the stone which R122 no one knows but he who receives it.'
18 "And to the angel of the church in Thyatira R123 write: The R124 Son of God, who R125 has eyes F19 like a flame of fire, and His feet are like burnished bronze, says this: 19 `I R126 know your deeds, and your love and faith and service and perseverance, F20 and that your deeds F21 of late are greater than at F22 first. 20 `But I R127 have this against you, that you tolerate the woman Jezebel, R128 who calls herself a prophetess, and she teaches and leads My bond-servants astray so that they commit R129 acts of immorality and eat things sacrificed to idols. 21 `I R130 gave her time to repent, and she does R131 not want to repent of her immorality. 22 `Behold, I will throw her on F23 a bed of sickness, and those who commit R132 adultery with her into great tribulation, unless they repent of her F24 deeds. 23 `And I will kill her children with pestilence, F25 and all the churches will know that I am He who searches R133 the minds F26 and hearts; and I R134 will give to each one of you according to your deeds. 24 `But I say to you, the rest who are in Thyatira, R135 who do not hold this teaching, who have not known the deep R136 things of Satan, as they call them--I place R137 no other burden on you. 25 `Nevertheless what R138 you have, hold fast until R139 I come. 26 `He R140 who overcomes, and he who keeps My deeds until R141 the end, TO HIM I WILL GIVE AUTHORITY OVER THE NATIONS; 27 AND HE SHALL RULE THEM WITH A ROD OF IRON, AS THE VESSELS OF THE POTTER ARE BROKEN TO PIECES, as I also have received authority from My Father; 28 and I will give him the R145 morning star. 29 `He R146 who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches.'
