1 Then there was given me a measuring R484F100 rod like a staff; and F101 someone R485 said, "Get up and measure the temple F102 of God and the altar, and those who worship in it. 2 "Leave F103 out the court R486 which is outside the temple F104 and do not measure it, for it R487 has been given to the nations; and they will tread R487 under foot the R488 holy city for forty-two R489 months. 3 "And I will grant authority to my two witnesses, R490 and they will prophesy for twelve R491 hundred and sixty days, clothed in sackcloth." R4924 These are the two R493 olive trees and the two lampstands that stand before the Lord of the earth. 5 And if anyone wants to harm them, fire R494 flows out of their mouth and devours their enemies; so if anyone wants to harm them, he R495 must be killed in this way. 6 These have the power to shut R496 up the sky, so that rain will not fall during the R497 days of their prophesying; and they have power over the waters to turn R498 them into blood, and to R499 strike the earth with every plague, as often as they desire.
7 When they have finished their testimony, the R500 beast that comes up out of the abyss R501 will make R502 war with them, and overcome them and kill them. 8 And their dead bodies will lie in the street of the great R503 city which mystically F105 is called Sodom R504 and Egypt, R505 where also their Lord was crucified. 9 Those from the R506 peoples and tribes and tongues and nations will look at their dead bodies F106 for three and a half days, and will R507F107 not permit their dead bodies to be laid in a tomb. 10 And those R508 who dwell on the earth will rejoice over them and celebrate; and they will send R509 gifts to one another, because these two prophets tormented those R508 who dwell on the earth.
11 But after the three and a half days, the R510 breath of life from God came into them, and they stood on their feet; and great fear fell upon those who were watching them. 12 And they heard a loud voice from heaven saying to them, "Come R511 up here." Then they went R512 up into heaven in the cloud, and their enemies watched them. 13 And in that hour there was a great earthquake, R513 and a tenth of the city fell; seven F108 thousand people were killed in the earthquake, and the rest were terrified and gave R514 glory to the God R515 of heaven.
14 The second woe R516 is past; behold, the third woe is coming quickly.
The Seventh Trumpet--Christ's Reign Foreseen
15 Then the seventh R517 angel sounded; and there were loud R518 voices in heaven, saying,
"The R519 kingdom of the world has become the kingdom of our Lord and of His R520 Christ; F109 and He R521 will reign forever and ever." 16 And the twenty-four elders, who sit R522 on their thrones before God, fell R523 on their faces and worshiped God, 17 saying,
"We give You thanks, O R524 Lord God, the Almighty, who are and who were, because You have taken Your great power and have begun to reign. R52518 "And the R526 nations were enraged, and Your R527 wrath came, and the R528 time came for the dead to be judged, and the time to reward F110 Your bond-servants R529 the prophets and the saints F111 and those who fear Your name, the R530 small and the great, and to destroy those who destroy the earth."
19 And the R531 temple F112 of God which is in heaven was opened; and the R532 ark of His covenant appeared in His temple, F112 and there were flashes of lightning R533 and sounds and peals of thunder and an earthquake and a great R534 hailstorm. F113
