Then God honored the seventh day and made it holy, because in it He rested from all His work which He had done.

The man said, "This is now bone of my bones, and flesh of my flesh. She will be called Woman, because she was taken out of Man."

And the man said, "I heard the sound of You in the garden. I was afraid because I was without clothes. So I hid myself."

Then the Lord God said to the snake, "Because you have done this, you will be hated and will suffer more than all cattle, and more than every animal of the field. You will go on your stomach and you will eat dust all the days of your life.

Then He said to Adam, "Because you have listened to the voice of your wife, and have eaten from the tree of which I told you, "Do not eat from it," the ground is cursed because of you. By hard work you will eat food from it all the days of your life.

You will eat bread by the sweat of your face because of hard work, until you return to the ground, because you were taken from the ground. You are dust, and you will return to dust."

The man called his wife's name Eve, because she was the mother of all living.

Now you are cursed because of the ground, which has opened its mouth to receive your brother's blood from your hand.

He gave him the name Noah. He said, "This one will give us rest from our work, from the hard work of our hands because the ground was cursed by the Lord."

Then Noah and his sons and his wife and his sons' wives all went into the large boat because of the water of the flood.

Then the Lord smelled a pleasing smell. And the Lord said to Himself, "I will never again curse the ground because of man. For the desire of man's heart is sinful from when he is young. I will never again destroy every living thing as I have done.

But you must not eat meat with blood in it because that is its life.

Then God said, "This is something special to see for all time, because of the agreement that I am making between Me and you and every living thing that is with you:

I will set My rain-bow in the cloud, and it will be something special to see because of an agreement between Me and the earth.

God said to Noah, "This is the special thing to see because of the agreement I have made between Me and all flesh upon the earth."

So the name of the city was Babel, because there the Lord mixed up the language of the whole earth. The Lord sent the people everywhere over the whole earth.

I will bring good to those who are good to you. And I will curse those who curse you. Good will come to all the families of the earth because of you."

Now there was no food in the land. So Abram went south to Egypt to stay there, because it was very hard to live in the land with no food.

Say that you are my sister. Then it may go well with me because of you. And because of you they will not kill me."

And Pharaoh acted well toward Abram because of Sarai. He gave Abram sheep, cattle, male and female donkeys, and camels, and men and women servants.
