MIRTH, n. merth. Social merriment; hilarity; high excitement of pleasurable feelings in company; noisy gayety; jollity. Mirth differs from joy and cheerfulness, as always implying noise.

With genial joy to warm the soul,

Bright Helen mixed a mirth-inspiring bowl.
