A seaport town and port of entry, Yarmouth county, Nova Scotia, Canada, on the Dominion & Atlantic railway, 218 m. from Halifax. Pop. (1901) 6430. Steamers run daily to Boston (Mass.), and weekly to St John (N.B.) and Halifax. It contains the county buildings, and has good schools and small local manufactories. Fish and lumber are exported in large quantities.
