Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

  • I cannot find the Interlinear Bible! Did you remove it?
  • The Interlinear Bible has not been removed.  In fact, there are several ways to get to it.

    1.  From the front page, you can click the left or right button above the "Search!" submit button.  This will switch the search form between "General Search", "Interlinear Search", "Parallel Search" or "Proximity Search".
    2.  If you click the "Original Language Tools" menu item, you will then see the "Interlinear Search" on the left of the sub-menu.
    3.  After doing a general search for a word, phrase or verse reference, you can then mouse over the verse text to show the link to the "Interlinear Bible".
  • I cannot find the Parallel Bible! Did you remove it?
  • Just like the Interlinear Bible, the Parallel Bible is still there and can be reached in several ways.

    1.  From the front page, you can click the left or right button above the "Search!" submit button.  This will switch the search form between "General Search", "Interlinear Search", "Parallel Search" or "Proximity Search".
    2.  If you click the "Personal Tools" menu item, you will then see the "Parallel Search" on the left of the sub-menu.
    3.  Enter http://www.studylight.org/par/ will redirect you to http://www.studylight.org/desk/parallel.cgi
  • Where are the study tools that used to be next to the verse text?
  • On the classic site, above the verse text are links to various tools.  In the new version the links appear when the user moves the mouse over the verse text.  The "Study Tools" link, when clicked, will open a box below the verse text and display the study tool resources for that verse.  The reason is to allow for faster loading of the results page by only displaying the list of resources when desired, thus keeping the page from being quite long.
  • Why is the "Commentary Navigator" box empty?
  • If you are seeing an empty box in the right hand column titled "Commentary Navigator" it is because your current browser needs to be updated.  Like most sites today, to realize the full potential of StudyLight.org the user needs a modern browser.  If you are visiting with anything less than Internet Explorer 7, Firefox 3, Chrome 20 or Opera 9, you need to upgrade.

If you are not already using it, I recommend Google Chrome simply because it is lite, stable and fast!  Plus, it works well on Iphone, Ipad and any laptop.  You can download a copy by going to the Google Chrome homepage and download their free browser.
