Gesenius' Hebrew and Chaldee Definition

חָבֵר m. an associate, a companion, fellow. Song of Solomon 1:7, 8:13 Judges 20:11, כְּאִישׁ אֶחָד חֲבֵרִים “all associated as one man;” Psal. 119:63 Psal. 45:8, מֵחֲבֵרֶיךָ “above thy fellows,” i.e. other kings (comp. Barhebr. p. 328). [This application of Psa 45:1-17, contradicts what we know to be its meaning; namely, that the king is the Lord Jesus (Hebrews 1:8), the fellows his “brethren” (Hebrews 2:11, 12 ).]
