(1) a calling together, convocation, pr. Aram. inf. of the root קָרָא, Numbers 10:2, לִמִקְרָא הָעֵדָה “to call together an assembly.” Hence

(a) an assembly called together, a sacred convocation called together, πανήγυρις, Isaiah 1:13. Often מִקְרָא קֹדֶשׁ. Leviticus 23:2, seq.; Numbers 28:18, 25 Numbers 28:25.

(b) a place of holy convocation, pl. sanctuaries, Isaiah 4:5.
