Gesenius' Hebrew and Chaldee Definition

רַעְיוֹן m. i.q. רְעוּת No. 2, desire, study, striving. Ecclesiastes 2:22, רַעְיוֹן לִבּוֹ “the striving of his heart.” רַעְיוֹן רוּחַ striving after wind, vain desire, Ecclesiastes 1:17, 4:16. Root רָעָה No. 3.

רַעְיוֹן m. Chald. thought, Daniel 4:16, 5:6, 10 7:28 used of night visions, Daniel 2:29, 30. Root רְעָה to think.
