- And the men of the city said unto Elisha, Behold, I pray thee, the situation of this city is pleasant, as my lord seeth: but the water is naught, and the ground barren. F5

- Then the men of the city said to Elisha, "Behold now, the situation of this city is pleasant, as my lord sees; but the water is bad and the land is F15 unfruitful."

- And he said, Bring me a new cruse, and put salt therein. And they brought it to him.
| - 2:20
- He said, "Bring me a new jar, and put salt in F16 it." So they brought it to him.
| - 2:21
- And he went forth unto the spring of the waters, and cast the salt in there, and said, Thus saith the LORD, I have healed these waters; there shall not be from thence any more death or barren land.
| - 2:21
- He went out to the spring of water and threw R42 salt in F17 it and said, "Thus says the LORD, `I have purified F18 these waters; there shall not be from there death or unfruitfulness F19 any longer.' "

- So the waters were healed unto this day, according to the saying of Elisha which he spake.

- So the waters have been purified F20 to this day, according to the word of Elisha which he spoke.
