Basic Gospel with Bob Christopher, Bob Davis and Richard Peifer

His Act of Grace

Monday, June 18, 2018

Bob Christopher, Bob Davis and Richard Peifer

How can I know that I am saved? Can I lose my salvation? Let's look at it today on Basic Gospel. What separated Adam and Even from God? Disbelief. They chose to disobey God. What did it take to restore us to God? One act of faith through Jesus Christ. Through Moses came the law and death. Through Christ came grace and life. John 17:3 "Now this is eternal life: that they know you, the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom you have sent."

* Why was it wrong for David to take a census in 1 Chronicles 21?

* Join us in Israel May 25 - June 6, 2019

* Richie asks what it means to walk in obedience in Christ.

Weekend Edition 152 - Saturday, June 16, 2018

Sin is never OK because it carries grave consequences; certainly suicide carries the ultimate consequence. But is suicide the unpardonable sin? A listener in South Carolina asks how to forgive her son and ex-daughter in law. She is raising her granddaughter because of choices her parents have made. Join us for a trip to Israel through the lens of the New Covenant. A listener asks about praying in tongues or a private prayer language. A listener disagrees with our teaching; she believes that we can lose our salvation.

The Grace Guide to Marriage - Part 2 - Friday, June 15, 2018

God designed marriage. He made humans as male and female. Just as our hands are mirror images of one another so is man and woman. She is fully his equal and together they reflect the fullness of our Creator. Being joined one to the other creates a new entity. First, the man leaves his father and mother. Second, he cleaves to his wife in every way. The two become one. One in Christ. This word means that you join together and you are to stay together. God's grace within you and within your relationship will be the power that enables you to stay together.

Follow Me... - Thursday, June 14, 2018

"Follow me and I will make you fishers of men... " Matthew 4:18-22 What was it about Jesus that made them leave their old way of life and follow him? Let's talk about that on today's broadcast. Jesus is the only one who can fill the deep needs of the human heart.

* Steve, born a Jew, testifies to the reality of Jesus Christ as the Messiah.

* If the Holy Spirit already lives within us, then why do we hear so many believers ask for the Holy Spirit to "come down and be in this place"?

Peace with God - Wednesday, June 13, 2018

Yesterday we talked about the rich young ruler and how difficult it was for him to enter the kingdom of God. But we know "Therefore, since we have been justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ." Romans 5:1 So when we receive Jesus, we're no longer at odds with God - we are at peace with God.

* What does it mean to rest from our works just as Jesus rested from his?

* It's wonderful that more and more are teaching this New Covenant of grace.

* Is there a Biblical answer about the existence of different races?

* I have heard there is something called common grace. Can you please explain it for me?

Receive His Eternal Life - Tuesday, June 12, 2018

How would you answer this question: What must I do to inherit eternal life? Eternal life is an ongoing search by people everywhere. Jesus answered this question in Luke 18:18-30 "What is impossible with man is possible with God."

* How does Isaiah 53:5 relate to healing?

* After Gwendolyn's recent accident and ongoing recovery, she asks what is God's gift for her in this.

* A caller asks for the full understanding of Luke 17:34 "I tell you, on that night two people will be in one bed; one will be taken and the other left."

Walk in Trust - Grow in Grace - Monday, June 11, 2018

Matthew 6:25 has some practical application in our lives today. So what are you worried about? Are you willing to entrust that to the one who loves you and gave himself for you? Part of growing in Christ is more readily entrusting him with those things. "Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink; or about your body, what you will wear. Is not life more than food, and the body more than clothes?"

* What did Paul mean by  "I wish that all of you were as I am." 1 Corinthians 7:7

* A Jew asks how can he be sure that Jesus is who he claims to be.

Weekend Edition 151 - Saturday, June 9, 2018

This last session of our teaching on Hebrews is an overview of the foundational truths we've explored. This whole story of the Bible is the story of Jesus. God spoke through his prophets before Jesus, and now Christ has come. Through the Holy Spirit, he is with us today. God speaks to us through him. Christ fulfilled the roles laid out before him and we are beneficiaries of his finished work.

The Grace Guide to Marriage - Part 1 - Friday, June 8, 2018

Then God said, "Let us make mankind in our image, in our likeness, so that they may rule over the fish in the sea and the birds in the sky, over the livestock and all the wild animals, and over all the creatures that move along the ground." Genesis 1:26 The Grace Guide to Marriage is our new series. There's a lot of information in the world regarding marriage. But the Word of God speaks directly to marriages. The way to build a strong Biblical marriage is through the lens of the New Covenant. We pray and hope this will be beneficial to our listeners. Marriage is God-designed and the Scripture present grand, sweeping insight. God designed marriage to have a greater purpose - to paint a picture of Jesus, love, and grace.

You Are Free Indeed - Thursday, June 7, 2018

Alice Johnson was released from prison yesterday after receiving a pardon from President Trump. To see her reaction to being set free is a reminder of the release from bondage we experience as believers. As Jesus said, "when the Son sets you free, you are free indeed". Just as Alice Johnson will not show up at the prison doors next week asking to be put back under bondage, we believers should live free, never returning to the bondage of the law. "It is for freedom that Christ has set us free. Stand firm, then, and do not let yourselves be burdened again by a yoke of slavery." Galatians 5:1

* Cindy calls concerning satanic attacks and the comfort she's received from Basic Gospel.

* What do people mean when they say, "Jesus Christ"?

* I know the Holy Spirit hasn't changed (just as God the Father and God the Son haven't). But did the Holy Spirit have a different "function" before Jesus' death, resurrection, and ascension?
