Basic Gospel with Bob Christopher, Bob Davis and Richard Peifer

Eager for Good Works

Tuesday, June 18, 2019

Bob Christopher, Bob Davis and Richard Peifer"Paul McClain, chairman of the Board of Basic Gospel, joins us from Mexico where he and his daughter are working in the message field. This is a way to share the love of God with others. That's the power of the gospel. Jesus Christ living His life, taking care of his children, through us. There is a river of life inside of us and it is only natural for us to let others see it and respond to it. This is a vision we have for Basic Gospel - mission opportunities to share not only physical needs but the needs of the heart. Titus 2:11-14 * I am so lonesome. I was made homeless when my mother died. I am 69 years old and I want a family to belong to and a purpose for the Kingdom. * Is there a difference between someone who is saved vs a disciple?

Jeff Fields Interview - Monday, June 17, 2019
"Our guest today is Jeff Fields. Jeff and his brother, Roger, are both former pastors. Together they wrote the book, Breaking the Hex and ask these questions: What if we Christians are living under a hex and do not even realize it? What if the crucifixion of Jesus Christ changed life far more than we realize? What if we have completely misunderstood what it is to "live the Christian life?" What if doing life with God is far simpler than we have imagined? You can learn more at http://thefieldsbrothers.com and you can get the book at https://basicgospel.net/breaking
Power of 8: New Covenant, part 2 - Friday, June 14, 2019
"Under the Old Covenant, everything was a constant reminder of sin. In this New Covenant, God makes four promises. Those promises are "I will put my laws in their minds and write them on their hearts, I will be their God and they will be my people, they will all know me, from the least of them to the greatest, I will forgive their wickedness and will remember their sins no more (Hebrews 8:10-12). God, in his glory and grace, guaranteed these four promises by the finished work of Christ and delivered them to you by His resurrected life.
A Shadow of Things to Come - Thursday, June 13, 2019
""Therefore let no one pass judgment on you in questions of food and drink, or with regard to a festival or a new moon or a Sabbath. These are a shadow of the things to come, but the substance belongs to Christ." Colossians 2:16, 17 There is nothing like the peace that passes understanding. * How do we communicate sin to a child? * Facebook viewers say thanks to Richard. * What does it mean to take up your cross? * How do I study the Bible? * Saab calls from England to express his gratitude to Richard. * Can you explain the difference between John's baptism and the Old Testament baptisms? * The answer is Jesus. But what's the question? Whatever is going on, the answer begins and ends with Jesus.
Temples of the Holy Spirit - Wednesday, June 12, 2019
"We have this great resource for our listeners this month called "Presence". It's about God with us. And we see that throughout the Bible and all of that was pointing toward the real temple which is in the hearts of you and me. "Do you not know that your bodies are temples of the Holy Spirit, who is in you, whom you have received from God? You are not your own; you were bought at a price. Therefore honor God with your bodies." 1 Corinthians 6:19, 20 * Is sin just the actions that we do or is it something more? * Clay asks about Hebrews 9:27 "Just as people are destined to die once, and after that to face judgment...". * I don't know how to truly experience God's presence in us.
The Mighty Works of God - Tuesday, June 11, 2019
"Why do we believe that we have the presence of God with us? Because Jesus told us so. "I still have many things to say to you, but you cannot bear them now. When the Spirit of truth comes, he will guide you into all the truth ... He will glorify me, for he will take what is mine and declare it to you. All that the Father has is mine; ... " John 16:12-15 Last Sunday was Pentecost - the celebration of the coming of the Holy Spirit upon the Apostles and believers. * How do I reach people who feel they were simply "born this way"? * Could you explain our death, burial resurrection with Christ in light of Romans 6? * Can I do my own communion service? * I was told that "God can't be love because he destroyed two cities."
Celebrating Baptism - Monday, June 10, 2019
"Bob talks about his opportunity to baptize a group of believers from Kenya during his recent trip through Israel. Baptism is a wonderful outward expression of an inward reality. Everyone confessed their faith in Christ and shared their joy of knowing him. * Why isn't Mohammed considered the main antichrist? * A caller asks why so few churches talk about Revelation and about God's judgment.
Power of 8: New Covenant, part 1 - Friday, June 7, 2019
"In this session we take a deep look at the New Covenant. The New Covenant is good news for believers with 4 simple promises. These are powerful and reach into every area of our life. The New Covenant was ushered in by the death of Jesus Christ. Just as our own wills (covenants) do not go into effect until we die, so it is with the New Covenant. Jesus' death is the dividing line between the Old and New. A firm understanding of this truth is the key to experiencing the Christian life as God intended.
The Gospel for All - Thursday, June 6, 2019
"Bob talks about his trip to Israel and what an incredible experience it was. * It's called the "Greatest Generation". Today we celebrate those who served and made the ultimate sacrifice 75 years ago today. Richard talks about his father who served as a medic in the Pacific. Freedom doesn't come without a cost. * The two -- Jew and Gentile -- made one in Christ. * I've prayed and others have prayed for my relief from mean people. Can someone overcome God's will?
Forgiving Others - Wednesday, June 5, 2019
""Be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, as God in Christ forgave you." Ephesians 4:32 This raises the question, how did God in Christ forgive you? That's the question for today's Basic Gospel. * Diana wants to know what role repentance of sins has in belief in Jesus. Is it necessary to repent to be saved? * Clay comments about Jesus' shedding his blood for us and he finished the work for us. Matthew 26:28 * Brenda asks for help concerning her relationship with her boyfriend. * I have a difficult time loving everybody. So where does his righteousness take over?
