What Does True Unity Look Like? Part 2

Wednesday, June 3, 2020

James Kaddis

It’s not hard to see the body of Christ is made up of different personalities, differing beliefs, convictions and personal preferences.  Yet we are still called to be united in Christ!  But what does true unity look like? That’ll be answered in today’s study of the Psalms.

What Does True Unity Look Like? Part 1 - Tuesday, June 2, 2020

Titus 3:5 says, “He saved us, not because of righteous things we had done, but because of his mercy.”  It points to the fact that salvation and new birth is a gift from God, not achieved by us, but received.  It’s God’s righteousness that we look to, made available to us by the death of Jesus on the cross .  And that’s emphasized in Psalm 132, which is where we’re going today on Light on the Hill with pastor James Kaddis.

Reflecting on the Goodness of God Part 2 - Monday, June 1, 2020

The fear of the Lord is oftentimes a neglected and misunderstood topic in today’s church, however, you’ll find it heavily emphasized in God’s Word.  But what exactly is it, and how do we walk in it?  Today on Light on the Hill we’ll learn how to walk in the fear of the Lord, with humility and with great expectation.

Reflecting on the Goodness of God Part 1 - Friday, May 29, 2020

As hard as everything seems to be right now, is fear and discouragement a reality in your life?  Pastor James Kaddis believes as we reflect on what God has done in the past, and consider what He can do in the present, you can’t help but be encouraged.  That’s what we’ll be doing today on Light on the Hill through a study of Psalms 126-128.

The Lord is With You in Difficult Times Part 2 - Thursday, May 28, 2020

Pastor James Kaddis will highlight Psalms 120-125.  These are songs of ascents, which were sung by Hebrew pilgrims as they made their way up to Jerusalem.  And as you’ll see in a moment, they communicate a great deal to us, encouraging us to call upon the name of the Lord, trust in and seek Him!

The Lord is With You in Difficult Times Part 1 - Wednesday, May 27, 2020

In the midst of this Coronavirus Pandemic, countless people are struggling with feelings of loneliness and are anxious!  What can settle our hearts?  Realizing the Lord is there for us, is a good place to start.  And that comes to our attention today on Light on the Hill as we visit Psalms 120 through 122.

Hope, Peace and Encouragement for the Present-Day Crisis - Tuesday, May 26, 2020

With all that we’re going through right now with the Coronavirus Pandemic, pastor James Kaddis has decided to take us to a Psalm that is full of hope, peace and encouragement.  As we visit Psalm 119 today, pastor James is going to highlight a number of verses that speak to our current situation, with the hope that it will help you to see things from God’s perspective.

The Lord is Merciful and Gracious Part 2 - Monday, May 25, 2020

You may have a pretty good idea of just how powerful and loving God is. We’re taught in Sunday School from an early age that He is everywhere, and knows everything. So what can we possibly have that would be a worthy gift for God? How about devoted praise and worship!  When you realize how gracious and merciful God is to us, that’s the appropriate response!  And we're encouraged in that direction today.

The Lord is Merciful and Gracious Part 1 - Friday, May 22, 2020

Everyone worships someone or something, as we were made to worship.  The question then becomes, “What or who are we worshiping?”  As we open Psalm 115 today, we discover that we actually become like our god.  And that can be good or bad, depending on who our god is.  Pastor James Kaddis is here now to show us the reason we should worship the true and the living God.

We're Made Complete in Christ Part 3 - Thursday, May 21, 2020

Where do you go for completion in life?  Some look for that in their spouse, or their job!  If it’s in anyone or anything other than the Lord, you’ll be disappointed!  We’re made complete in Christ, and that’s the emphasis of today’s study in the Psalms with pastor James Kaddis on Light on the Hill.
