Laadan: Laadan and Libni, seem to have been two distinct names of this person; but the variation of Shimi and Shimei exists only in the translation, the original being uniformly שמעי [Strong's H8096]. Exodus 6:17, Libni, Shimi

Gill's Notes on the Bible

Of the Gershonites were Laadan and Shimei. These two were the immediate posterity of Gershon; are the same with Libni and Shimhi, and heads of families, Exodus 6:17.
