In Ex15(Red Sea) we see Israel singing in great victory but here they’re weeping in defeat!
Had they forgotten their song? [See Ex. 15:14–18]
There they had there eye on God & so faith sang; here they looked at giants & so unbelief wept.
(3) Before Moses was blamed...now God!
Yah, it’s our wives & children we’re concerned about!

THE GADARENE DEMONIACS (8:28-34)
In 1937 G. Campbell Morgan said, I cannot personally read my newspaper today w/out believing that there are still demon-possessed men in the world.
You cannot see the supernatural realm of
Deuteronomy 5:16-19 sin.
Rom. 3:20 NLT For no one can ever be made right with God by doing what the law commands. The law simply shows us how sinful we are.
To prepare the nation for the coming of Christ. - Gal.3:19-24 (read) [yellow tab]
To make them a separated nation on the earth. - We read in Deut.4:5-8.
We are going to grab #5-#8 commandments tonight.
Listen for each of these commandments establishing
Luke 24:1-12
RISEN! (24:1-12)
THE WOMEN BACK TO THE TOMB! (1-4)

Women, last at the cross, 1st at the tomb.

2 Corinthians 12:11-21 them. He whose crown shines the brightest will know when he has lost a jewel. He who gives the most light to the world will always be able to discover his own darkness.” (Charles Spurgeon)
Am I seeking their souls or their stuff? (14)
I do not seek yours, but you – He’s not after what you got, but who you are!
This lays down one of the supreme principles of Christian living!
Am I a joyful servant? (15)
I will very gladly spend & be spent

1 Thessalonians 2:13-20 correction (how to get rt), for instruction in righteousness (how to stay rt), that the man of God may be complete, thoroughly equipped for every good work.
When His word is effectively working in you it is in the present continuous sense.
Heb.4:12 says the word of God is living and powerful.
Living - ζάω/zao and Active - ἐνεργέω/energeo (our words here, effectively works)
Like a seed - the word bears life & power within itself.
Like
Hebrews 3:1-19 the stars.
It suggests the idea of the astronomer, & the quiet, patient, persevering, concentrated gaze w/which he seeks to discover all that can be possibly known of the stars.
How do I do this? [1] Gaze upon the beauty of the Lord (Ps.27:4). [2] Concentrate on Him (Isaac Newton, “I keep it before me.”). [3] True reflection cannot happen w/2a glance (There’s a big diff between flying down the highway seeing the landscape & sitting still on the porch & soaking up the scenery).
Unbelievers,
1 Samuel 20:1-42 showed greater faith in the promise of God, than did David at this point.
THE PROMISE! (12–17)
Jonathan promises to warn David about his father’s plans, and both men make a sacred vow to be loyal to each other, whatever the cost.
(14,15) Jonathan turns it around, your going to make it, & I might not.
So when you do, here’s what I want you to do... (what encouragement!)
(14) ESV If I am still alive, show me the steadfast love of the Lord, that I may not die.
That
2 Samuel 10:1-19 sober.”
To Teach!
The bible is full of various kinds of humor: Situational comedy, satire, sarcasm, irony
Entire books such as Amos are comedic satire.
Most humorous is in ch.4 when God refers to the Real Housewives of Bashan as fat cows. Hear this word, you cows of Bashan, who are on the mountain of Samaria, who oppress the poor, who crush the needy, who say to your husbands, Bring, that we may drink!
