How long shall I take counsel in my soul, having sorrow in my heart daily? how long shall mine enemy be exalted over me?
How long — Shall I be in such perplexities, not knowing what course to take?
Verse 3
Consider and hear me, O LORD my God: lighten mine eyes, lest I sleep the sleep of death;
Lighten — Revive and comfort, and deliver me from the darkness of death, which is ready to come upon me.
