Voice of the Lord
He ...put the mud on the man's eyes, and said to him, "Go, wash off in the Pool of Shiloach!" (John 9:6-7)
Ilove Scriptures that make us stop and think. Why didn't Yeshua simply say, "Be healed of your blindness"? Since there are many kinds of blindness, perhaps the reason Yeshua made clay and put it into the blind man's eyesockets was because the blind man had no eyes. For Yeshua to heal him, perhaps he actually had to make eyes, or a part of them. The Scriptures say that man is clay formed from the dust of the ground (Genesis 2:7). Yeshua said, at the time of this incident, that the reason for the man's sickness was that "God's power might be seen at work in him" (John 9:3). Many of our traditional Jewish blessings call God Yotzer Adam (the Former of Man). Here we see the Son of God doing what only God does, and by this he proved himself to be the greater Son of David (i.e., the Messiah) awaited by all Israel (Psalms 2,110).
Even as we rejoice to see Yeshua fulfill the Messianic promises, let us determine to remove all limits on what he might do in our lives, or through us. We are his body on earth right now.
...remember Yeshua's promise to us: "He [who believes in Yeshua] will do greater ones [works], because I am going to the Father" (John 14:12).
