Jeremiah 37:11

And it happened, when the army of the Chaldeans went up from Jerusalem because of Pharaoh's army,

then Jeremiah went out of Jerusalem, to go into the land of Benjamin to receive a portion from there in the midst of the people.

And it happened, he being in the gate of Benjamin, a captain of the guard was there, and his name was Irijah the son of Shelemiah, the son of Hananiah. And he seized Jeremiahthe prophet, saying, You are falling to theChaldeans.

And Jeremiah said, A lie! I am not falling to the Chaldeans. But he did not listen to him. And Irijah took Jeremiah and brought him to the rulers.

And the rulers were angry with Jeremiah and struck him, and they put him in the house of binding, the house of Jonathan the scribe. For they had made it into a prison house.

When Jeremiah had gone into the house of the pit, and into the cells, then Jeremiah remained there many days.
