And there was a man of the hills of Ephraim, and his name was Micah.
Judges 17:2

And he said to his mother, The eleven hundred pieces of silver which were taken from you, and you uttered a curse, even also speaking in my ear; behold, the silver is with me. I have takenit. And his mother said, Blessed be my son byJehovah.
Judges 17:3

And he gave back the eleven hundred silver pieces to his mother. And his mother said, I have wholly consecrated the silver to Jehovah from my hand for my son, to make a graven image and a molten image. And now, I am returning it to you.

And he returned the silver to his mother. And his mother took two hundred silver pieces and gave them to a refiner. And he made it a graven image, and a molten image. And it was in Micah's house.

And the man Micah had a house of gods. And he made an ephod, and household idols, and consecrated one of his sons. And he was a priest for him.

And in those days there was no king in Israel; each man did the right in his own eyes.

And there was a young man of Bethlehem in Judah, of the family of Judah; and he was a Levite. And he resided there.

And the man went out of the city, out of Bethlehem-judah, to live where he might find a place. And he came to the hills of Ephraim, to the house of Micah, to work his way.
Judges 17:9

And Micah said to him, From where do you come? And he said to him, I am a Levite of Bethlehem-judah, and I am going to live where I may find a place.
Judges 17:10

And Micah said to him, Live with me, and be a father and a priest to me. I will give you ten silver pieces for the days, and an order of garments, and your upkeep. And the Levite went in.

And the Levite was willing to live with the man, and the young man was to him as one of his sons.

And Micah consecrated the hand of the Levite and the young man was a priest to him; and he was in Micah's house.
Judges 17:13

And Micah said, Now I know that Jehovah will do me good, for the Levite is a priest to me.
