And God made the firmament, and divided the waters that were under the firmament from the waters that were above the firmament; and it was so.

And God said, Let the waters that are under the sky be gathered together in one place, and let the dry land appear; and it was so.

And God said, Let the earth bring forth vegetation, the herb yielding seed after its kind, and the fruit tree yielding fruit after its kind, wherein is their seed, upon the earth; and it was so.

And let them be for lights in the firmament of the heaven to give light upon the earth; and it was so.

Then God said, Let the earth bring forth living creatures after their kind, cattle, and creeping things, and beasts of the earth after their kind; and it was so.

So God created man in his own image, in the image of God he created him; male and female he created them.

And to every beast of the earth, and to every fowl of the air, and to everything that creeps upon the earth, wherein there is life, I have given every green herb for food; and it was so.

So God blessed the seventh day, and sanctified it; because in it he had rested from all his works which God created and made.

So the LORD God caused a deep sleep to fall upon Adam, and he slept; and he took one of his ribs, and closed up the place with flesh in its stead;

So when the woman saw that the tree was good for food, and that it was pleasant to the eyes, and that the tree was delightful to look at, she took of the fruit thereof, and did eat, and she also gave to her husband with her; and he did eat.

So Adam called his wifes name Eve because she was the mother of all living.

So the LORD God drove out the man; and he placed at the east of the garden of Eden Cherubim, and a flaming sword which turned every way, to guard the path to the tree of life.

But with Cain and with his offering he was not pleased. So Cain was exceedingly displeased, and his countenance was sad.

And the LORD said to him, It shall not be so; whoever slays Cain, vengeance shall be taken on him sevenfold. And the LORD set a mark upon Cain, so that anyone who may find him may not kill him.

That the sons of God saw that the daughters of men were fair; so they took them wives of all whom they chose.

So the LORD said, I will destroy men whom I have created from the face of the earth; both men and animals, and the creeping things, and the fowls of the air; I am sorry that I have made them.

So God said to Noah, The end of all flesh is come before me; for the earth is full of wickedness through men; and, behold, I will destroy them with the earth.

Thus did Noah; according to all that God commanded him, so did he.

And the flood lasted forty days upon the earth; and the waters increased and bore up the ark so that it was lifted up above the earth.

And the waters prevailed exceedingly upon the earth; so that all the high mountains under the whole heaven were covered.
