The man called his wife Havah, because she was the mother of all living.

Now you are cursed because of the ground, which has opened its mouth to receive your brother's blood from your hand.

and he named him Noach, saying, "This same will comfort us in our work and in the toil of our hands, because of the ground which the LORD has cursed."

The LORD said, "My spirit will not strive with man forever, because he also is flesh; yet will his days be one hundred twenty years."

Noach went into the teivah with his sons, his wife, and his sons' wives, because of the waters of the flood.

Therefore the name of it was called Bavel, because the LORD confused the language of all the eretz, there. From there, the LORD scattered them abroad on the surface of all the eretz.

Please say that you are my sister, that it may be well with me for your sake, and that my soul may live because of you."

The LORD plagued Par`oh and his house with great plagues because of Sarai, Avram's wife.

The angel of the LORD said to her, "Behold, you are with child, and will bear a son. You shall call his name Yishma'el, because the LORD has heard your affliction.

The LORD said, "Because the cry of Sedom and `Amorah is great, and because their sin is very grievous,

See now, I have two virgin daughters. Please let me bring them out to you, and do you to them as is good in your eyes. Only don't do anything to these men, because they have come under the shadow of my roof."

for we will destroy this place, because the cry of them is grown great before the LORD. The LORD has sent us to destroy it."

But God came to Avimelekh in a dream of the night, and said to him, "Behold, you are a dead man, because of the woman whom you have taken. For she is a man's wife."

Avraham said, "Because I thought, 'Surely the fear of God is not in this place. They will kill me for my wife's sake.'
