I had just finished reading an e-mail and there it was. That little tag at the end. The e-mail was a moving piece concerning God's love and then I got to the end. There at the end was that addendum that just aggravates me. I'm sure you may have seen it sometime. It goes something like this: If you love God you'll pass this on. If you delete this... You get the picture.

Just this morning a dear friend of mine sent me an e-mail concerning 9/11 that ended this way. "Pass this on to someone else if you'd like. There is NO LUCK attached. If you delete this, it's okay: God's Love is not dependent on e-mail." Some e-mails I have received have told me that they were powerful and should not be broken, or that people who truly love God will pass them on. But the truth of the matter is; GOD'S LOVE IS NOT DEPENDENT ON E-MAIL!!!

I was so exhilarated when I read that. So many of the e-mails that have been forwarded to me with a warning concerning deletion were originated by people whom I do not know. Therefore, I have no idea about their commitment level to the Lord Jesus Christ. I have no idea whether or not they have a personal relationship with Christ. I have no idea whether or not they walk daily with the Master. But they have sent an e-mail that has a heart warming story.

So why do I send these devotionals out? Because I love the Lord. But did you get the emphasis there? Let me restate it. Because I love the Lord. My burden is to share the truth of God with others. Not to burden others with the truth. The only thing that counts about what I send is the Word of God that is included with each one of these. My thoughts are merely to point you to the Word.

"For the Word of God is living and powerful, and sharper than a two-edged sword, piercing even to the division of soul and spirit, and of joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart." Hebrews 4:12 When people see themselves honestly, they see their need for God. All I want you to do is look honestly at yourself as I do at myself through the Word. If you wish to share that with someone else that is your choice. Sharing it with you is mine.
