Barn
Holman Bible Dictionary
In the Bible, a barn is a storage place for seed (Haggai 2:19 ) or grain (Matthew 13:30 ). A full barn is a sign of prosperity (Deuteronomy 28:8; Proverbs 3:10; Luke 12:18 ) while empty barns are signs of calamity of some kind (either drought, war, etc; Joel 1:17 ). Equivalent to modern granaries or silos.
