Cassia
Holman Bible Dictionary
Bark of an oriental tree (Cinnamomum cassia Blume) related to cinnamon. One of the ingredients used to make anointing oil ( Exodus 30:24 ), it was acquired through trade with Tyre (Ezekiel 27:19 ) and was desired for its aromatic qualities (Psalm 45:8 ). One of Job's daughters was named Kezia(h) (Job 42:14 ), a name that means “cassia.”
