Chameleon
Holman Bible Dictionary
An unclean animal that moves on the ground (Leviticus 11:30 ), usually identified as the Chamaeleo chamaeleo . A Hebrew word with the same spelling but perhaps with different historical derivation occurs in Leviticus 11:18 and Deuteronomy 14:16 , where it is apparently the barn owl, Tyto alba.
