Dappled
Holman Bible Dictionary
The variegated grey color of the horses in the vision in Zechariah 6:3 ,Zechariah 6:3,6:6 . KJV translates the rare Hebrew term as “bay.” Modern translators follow the earliest Greek translation in reading “dappled.” The Hebrew term also appears in Genesis 31:10 ,Genesis 31:10,31:12 and in a few manuscripts of Nehemiah 5:18 . KJV reads “grisled,” while modern translations have, “spotted,” “speckled,” or “mottled.”
