Dinah
Holman Bible Dictionary
(di' nah) Personal name meaning, “justice” or “artistically formed.” The daughter of Jacob and Leah (Genesis 30:21 ). According to Genesis 34:1 , she was sexually assaulted by a man named Shechem, who wished to marry her. Simeon and Levi, her brothers, took revenge by killing the male residents of the city of Shechem. See Jacob; Leah; Shechem; Patriarchs.
