Epaphras

Holman Bible Dictionary

(ehp' uh frass) Personal name meaning, “lovely.” A Christian preacher from whom Paul learned of the situation of the church in Colosse (Colossians 1:7 ). He was a native of Colosse whose ministry especially involved Colosse, Laodicea, and Hierapolis. Later he was a companion of Paul during the latter's imprisonment. Though Epaphras is mentioned in the New Testament only in the letters to the Colossians and to Philemon, Paul evidently held this man in high regard.
