Filigree

Holman Bible Dictionary

Modern translation of ornamental work, especially of fine metal wire. KJV reads, “ouches”; REB, “rossettes.” Gold filigree was used in the settings of precious stones (Exodus 28:11 ,Exodus 28:11,28:20; Exodus 39:6 ,Exodus 39:6,39:13 ) and as clasps (Exodus 28:13 ,Exodus 28:13,28:25; Exodus 39:16 ,Exodus 39:16,39:18 ) for clothing or jewelry. The design in Exodus was likely a rosette or simple floral pattern.
