(hihl ki' ah) Personal name meaning, “Yah's portion.” 1. Father of Amaziah (1 Chronicles 6:45 ). He was a Levite who lived before the time of David the king. 2. Levite and Temple servant who lived during the time of David (1 Chronicles 26:11 ). 3 . Father of Eliakim, who was in charge of the household of King Hezekiah (2 Kings 18:18 ). 4 . Father of Jeremiah the prophet (Jeremiah 1:1 ).

5. Father of Gemariah, who was an emissary from Zedekiah to Nebuchadnezzar, king of Babylon (Jeremiah 29:3 ). 6 . High priest who aided in Josiah's reform movement (2 Kings 22:4 ). 7 . Person who stood with Ezra the scribe at the reading of the law (Nehemiah 8:4 ). 8 . Priest who was among the exiles that returned (Nehemiah 12:7 ).
