Holman Bible Dictionary
(huhl) Personal name meaning, “ring.” A son of Aram, son of Shem, and grandson of Noah in the Table of Nations (Genesis 10:23 ), thus the original ancestor of an Aramean or Syrian tribe. As often in genealogy lists, 1 Chronicles 1:17 omits the father Shem to emphasize the kinship with Aram.
