(jahssh' uh fat) Short form of personal name Jehoshaphat meaning, “Yah Judges 1:1 . Military hero under David (1 Chronicles 11:43 ). 2 . Priest who sounded the trumpet before the Ark of the Covenant as David brought it to Jerusalem (1 Chronicles 15:24; KJV, Jehoshaphat).
