Kishon
Holman Bible Dictionary
(kihssh' shuhn) Place name meaning “curving, winding.” A small river which flows from east to west through the Valley of Jezreel. In the spring it achieves a width of about 65 feet and a length of 23 miles. It was at the Kishon that Deborah and Barak defeated the Canaanite Sisera when his chariots became mired in the marshes (Judges 4:7 ,Judges 4:7,4:13; Judges 5:21 ). Later, the river was the place where Elijah brought the prophets of Baal to be executed following God's display and victory on Mount Carmel (1 Kings 18:40 ).
