Lance, Lancet
Holman Bible Dictionary
A weapon consisting of a long shaft with a metal head; javelin; spear (Judges 5:8 , NEB: 1 Kings 18:28 , NAS, RSV; Jeremiah 50:42 , KJV). In modern English, a lancet is a two-edged surgical instrument. The KJV used lancet for a small lance (1 Kings 18:28 ). See Arms, Armor; Weapons.
