(muhl' cuh) Personal name meaning, “queen.” Abraham's niece and the wife of Nahor, the patriarch's brother. She bore eight sons, one of whom was Bethuel, Rebekah's father (Genesis 11:29; Genesis 24:15 ). 2 . One of five daughters of Zelophehad (Numbers 26:33 ), left without support after the death of their father. They pled their case before Moses for an inheritance as a son would receive. In a landmark ruling for Israel, God commanded Moses to give each of the daughters an inheritance from their father's estate (Numbers 27:1-8 ); Numbers 36:11; Joshua 17:3 .
