Murrain
Holman Bible Dictionary
(myoo' rin) KJV term derived from the French for to die (morir) referring to an infectious disease affecting livestock (Exodus 9:3 ). The earliest Greek translation used the term death. Modern translations use either disease (TEV), pestilence (NAS, NRSV), or plague (NIV, RSV).
