(nihm' sshi) Personal name meaning, “weasel.” Grandfather of Jehu (2Kings 9:2,2 Kings 9:14 ). Elsewhere, Jehu is called the son of Nimshi (1 Kings 19:16; 2 Kings 9:20; 2 Chronicles 22:7 ). Either son is used loosely in the sense of descendant, or a variant tradition is involved.
