Salt, Valley of
Holman Bible Dictionary
Geographical passageway south and east of the Dead Sea, often identified with wadi el-Milch south of Beersheba, but this location is not accepted by modern commentators. David killed 18,000 Edomites there (2 Samuel 8:13; compare 1 Chronicles 18:12; Psalm 60:1 ). King Amaziah (796-767 B.C.) killed 10,000 Edomites (2 Kings 14:7 ).
