Siddim

Holman Bible Dictionary

(ssihd' deem) Place name perhaps meaning, “flats” or “fields.” A variant name for the Dead Sea where the coalition faced Chedorlaomer and his allies, leading to Abraham's rescue of Lot (Genesis 14:1 ). The reference is apparently to the land bordering the Dead Sea. Some think the Hebrew should be read Shadim and interpreted as a reference to the Valley of Demons.
