Holman Bible Dictionary
A flag or banner usually used by the military to identify groups of soldiers or a central flag to rally all the soldiers at one time (Numbers 1:52; Numbers 2:2; Numbers 10:14 ,Numbers 10:14,10:18 ). It is also used figuratively of God (Isaiah 59:19 ). See Banner .
