JACHIN. 1. Fourth son of Simeon ( Genesis 46:10 , Exodus 6:15 ) called in 1 Chronicles 4:24 Jarib; in Numbers 26:12 the patronymic Jachinites occurs. 2. Eponym of a priestly family ( 1 Chronicles 9:10 , Nehemiah 11:10 ).
