Hastings' Dictionary of the Bible
NAARAI. One of David’s heroes ( 1 Chronicles 11:37 ). In the parallel passage, 2 Samuel 23:35 , the name is Paarai , who is called ‘the Arbite.’ It is impossible to decide with any confidence between the rival readings.
