Adeodatus II, Saint, Pope

1910 New Catholic Dictionary

Reigned from 672 to 676. A monk of the Roman cloister of Saint Erasmus, he was active in promoting monastic discipline and in repressing the heresy of the Monothelites, who believed that there was but one will in Christ, i.e.,no human will but only the Divine.
