It is of two kinds, essential and accidental. Essentially it consists in the Beatific Vision. The accidental beatitude of heaven arises from the possession of those created goods which God gives the blessed, e.g., glorified body after the general resurrection, society of the blessed. The degree of beatitude will not be the same for all, but will be in proportion to merit.
