Caesarea
1910 New Catholic Dictionary
Town on the east shore of the Mediterranean, about 70 miles from Jerusalem, ancient capital of Judea. Saint Paul was imprisoned here for two years (Acts 24), and from here began his journey to Rome (Acts 27).
