1910 New Catholic Dictionary

October 23, or the third Sunday of July. In honor of the graces and benefits of the Redemption. It was instituted at Venice in 1576 in thanksgiving for the cessation of a plague, and is now found only in the special calendar of some dioceses and religious orders.
