Comprises nearly all Donegal, excepting the Barony of Inishowen. Suffragan of the archdiocese of Armagh. Saint Colomba founded a monastery there in the 6th century. Striking abbey ruins may be seen. A portion of the old cathedral is comprised in the Protestant cathedral of Raphoe. Notable bishops include
