Philippians (fĭ-lĭp'pi-anz), Epistle to the. This epistle, written by Paul while a prisoner at Rome, a.d. 62 or 63, is remarkable for its Christian joy and for the love the apostle shows for the Philippian converts. Philippians 4:1. The Philippian Christians are reminded, as believers in Christ, of their dignity and privileges, see Acts 16:12-40, and are exhorted to live worthily of their heavenly citizenship.
