A'moz. (strong). Father of the prophet Isaiah, and, according to rabbinical tradition, brother of Amaziah, king of Judah. 2 Kings 19:2; 2 Kings 19:20; 2 Kings 20:1; Isaiah 1:1. (B.C. before 756).
