"to know," in the pluperfect tense (with imperfect meaning) is rendered "wist" (the past tense of the verb "to wit:" cp. WOT) in Mark 9:6; 14:40; Luke 2:49; John 5:13; Acts 12:9; 23:5 . See KNOW , No. 2.
